Vail Winter Engagement


There are so many ways to pull of a surprise winter engagement in Vail Colorado- from the top of a mountain, to the cozy lit up villages, to a sweet little wooded area by the creek- which is where this particular one took place. It was beautiful and simple, showcasing this couple's love and excitement to spend the rest of their lives together.


Because this couple had been to Vail in the past there was some familiarity with the area, and he actually suggested this location- very easy to access and pretty centrally located within Lionshead village area. There are so many things you can consider when planning a proposal, but I do think that ease and accessibility are some top things to consider, especially if you're wanting to really lean into the element of surprise here. Planning a proposal in Vail is something I'm always happy to assist in while offering my knowledge of the area and previous proposals!

The lush green trees surrounded by snow are one of my favorite backdrops for photos- the colors are so rich and wintery! It's fun to walk through the village for a few more photos together as well after the private location of the proposal itself. This was closer to Lionshead village than Vail Village, so we got some cute engagement photos around the Lionshead ice skating rink as well. There's no shortage of beautiful locations for engagement photos in Vail!
