Proposal at The maroon bells, Aspen colorado

Certainly an iconic Colorado location, The Maroon Bells stuns with its natural beauty. I've been to this location in all seasons and it's beautiful regardless of the weather or time of year. The peaks of The Maroon Bells are so dramatic and gorgeous, they almost don't look real in photos. If you're looking for a beautiful Colorado mountain backdrop for a proposal, this location will certainly check the boxes. Things to keep in mind for this location are access, crowds, and weather.

-Access: accessing The Maroon Bells is easy, but since parking permits at the top are very limited, a shuttle reservation is required. Shuttles run often and are under $20 per person for a round trip ride.

-Crowds: because this is such a beautiful and popular location, crowds can often form at this beautiful Colorado mountain background. Visiting during a weekday or being willing to walk around some are both good options for privacy. Just keep in mind there will most likely be other people around, although there are options for a more private feel as well.

-Weather: This is a high altitude mountain location so weather can change quickly and be severe at time. Bringing water and layers is highly suggested!

The proposal itself happened down by the small lake area, a classic location for photos at The Maroon Bells. It's nice to have the water and mountains in the background for photos at this location. Afterwards we walked up a bit towards the wedding ceremony location for photos in the grasses, more open space and a little less people around. A great perk for doing photos during a non peak season is having less crowds in the area! I think this location is so beautiful no matter what the season.
