Aspen winter proposal


There are so many beautiful locations in Aspen, but the top of the mountain is one of my favorites. The views from the top are unparalleled with mountains surrounding you, truly feeling like you're on top of the world. This surely sets the scene for a perfect winter proposal, with mountains all around and clear blue skies you can see for miles. There are a few beautiful places for photos at the top depending on accessibility, mobility and if you're on foot or skis! Riding the gondola up is a great way to access the views and beautiful scenic area without having to ski. This beautiful Aspen Wedding Deck proposal was perfect with weather and visibility, with blue skies and mountain peaks you can see for miles.

Capturing a true surprise proposal can be tricky and takes a certain level of stealth to pull off, while still being fully in communication for the plan. I always try to be visible, so the person proposing knows I'm there, while still blending in with the crowd. I try my best to guide them to the determined location, even when neither person has been there before. It's truly a moment I'm always so grateful to be part of!

I always like to coordinate to capture the proposal itself candidly, then afterwards we can have a more directed photo session together. The combination of candid and directed photos are so fun to capture in the once in a lifetime moment. It seems as though times like these can go by in such a blur, I think it's nice to have photos to look back on to capture the moment!

Winter proposal in the snow at The Aspen Wedding Deck

This proposal was still in the very early season without a ton of snow, but we were still able to walk around bit and find some really cute backgrounds with the iconic red Aspen gondola cars, and of course lots of mountain peaks for stunning scenic backdrops. We rode the gondola back down together for some fun photos before parting ways.
