Vail Engagement Photos


I just love this location so much as a beautiful Vail Colorado mountain background. In the winter it's a beautiful mountain peak background with minimal skier traffic, allowing for open space with the ability to get creative and playful without having people around to navigate. Since Vail is located in the valley of such big mountains, it can be tricky to get those classic mountain peaks that everyone thinks of in the little ski town. Getting up on top of the mountains allows for vast and beautiful views of Holy Cross mountain and the Gore Range, both offering stunning backgrounds for photos. For this reason, this is one of my go to winter locations in Vail for photo sessions.

This gorgeous location does require a ride up the gondola to access. This makes it a great location for early or late season winter photos, as the snow stay fresh much longer on top of the mountain. Keep in mind that the gondola is not free to ride, so you need to either have an Epic pass or purchase a day lift ticket to get to the top. Another (very important) thing to keep in mind for this location is timing, as the gondola closes in the mid afternoon. Starting early and allowing enough time to ride the gondola back down is an important thing to remember and plan around to avoid getting stuck at the top!
